It was suuuper hard this week to be good and track my food everyday. I was in the mindset of meh- screw it! I'm super frustrated to be back in the 200's. I DID go to the gym 5X last week even though my eating wasnt the best. I have found my new love for swimming! It is so awesome! Its quiet, I'm by myself, I still feel like I'm getting a good workout.
This weeks weigh in- I weighed 199.5! I'm back AGAIN in the 100's! Wahooo! Lets hope this plateaue goes the heck away next week!

Discouraging Week 2
Blah!!
This week I gained 1.3 pounds which put me back in the 200's. So mad and discouraged!! I tracked my food everyday and when we went out to eat (We celebrated that grants came in) I made sure to use portion control!
I went to the gym 4 times this week and have been sooo sore all week long! I zumba'd, did a spin class, a high intensity cardio class, and then my swimming day that I posted about a few days ago.
I keep telling myself that I gained muscle- its just really hard to convince myself when I went back to 200. SO disappointed!!
Hopefully next week will be better!!!

swimmin in the rain
This is my first week back at the gym. I am so exhausted, physically tired, and sore!
I got 20 minutes in to my cardio class today and I just had to leave. The back of my legs hurt so bad!
I really wanted to run so I hopped on the treadmill for a quick mile then I jumped in the pool and swam 30 laps in the rain.
The pool was really warm and so it felt really good to have the cold rain coming down, although it made backstroke really hard.
I wanted to push myself to swim as long as possible and there were four kick boards scattered all around the pools edge so I made a game collecting them then relaying them to different sides. Anything to keep me going and I did my .5 miles swimming today! Note for next time- dont forget my goggles at home haha. Made it tough!
Today made me super excited for my triathlon!

Week 1 Weigh in.
This week I went out for another bike ride and tried to exercise at home. I don't like work out videos and get kind of bored trying to think up my own stuff.
Food wise: it was kind of tough being the first week back! Old sugar habits die hard! We still had Caramel popcorn a few nights this week. We calculated it on Thursday and a bowl is 20 points. That's almost 2/3 of my daily allowance!
There was an awesome sale this week at Target so I got a bunch of things I wanted to help me train. I got a fanny pack for when I run to keep my keys ( considering pepper spray) and my water bottle, an iPod arm band so I can stop putting my iPod in my bra, and then Adam and I got pedometers to race with. So far today I have 8500 steps. Hoping to hit 15,000 by the end of the day.
'
Also at Target I got smart ones frozen dinners. I know they aren't the best for me nutritionally but there was a killer deal on them and it will help kick on my diet. So first they were on sale for 1.89 then there was a sale that if you bought ten you got a $5 gift card. On the boxes were coupons for $3 off 10 boxes. I grabbed three entrees with this coupon. My cashier scanned all three coupons getting me an extra $9 off. That makes my total for all ten meals $4.90!
ON the topic of entrees:
I have really been wanting to try Spaghetti Squash for a while since I see it in all my weight Loss shows. I normally HATE squash and stray away as much as possible so I bought the smallest one possible so we wouldn't have any left overs.
I had no clue how to prepare it!
Step one: Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Step two: slice it open length wise and scrape out all the seeds like a pumpkin.
Step three: Bake it for 45-60 min or until tender with a fork.
Step four: shred the inside with a fork and it will come out looking like spaghetti noodle strands.
Step five: smother the heck out of it with spaghetti sauce and pray it tastes good!!
Here it is hot out of the oven

and this is what it looks like shredded in the bowl.

Our verdict?
It wasn't cooked as much as I would have wanted so it was still a little crunchy-ish... I'm going to try this again in the next week or two and then make up my mind fully. But other than that, it wasn't too bad. Spaghetti noodles taste bland to me and I just taste the marina sauce. Adam wasn't convinced on it though and would rather spend the points on real noodles- But he has 51 points a day compared to my measly 33!
Oh and on to numbers!
I hate how men loose weight so much faster than women!!
Adam lost SIX pounds this week! What the heck?!
I lost 1.8 to bring my weight to an even 199!
I am rejoining the gym tomorrow and am going to be SOOOOOORE this week!!

IM BACK ON THE BALL!!!
Hi Everyone!!
I am back and I am going to do this!!
While I was gone I hit 199 pounds! Wahoo! Thanks to Christmas and etc my starting weight for this leg of the weight loss is 200.8.
Adam rejoined Weight Watchers with me so it will be easier to keep junk out of the house. Well, its not really junk thats my downfall, its portion control. I think you should be able to eat WHATEVER you want as long as you just keep your portions in check.
I now have no goals as to how much weight I want to loose. That is on the back burner. What my goal and motivation is now is TRIATHLON!!!
On July 7th I will compete in a triathlon with 5 of my friends.
It consists of: Swim .5 miles – Bike 16 miles – Run 3 miles
Today I took the kids for a bike ride to get myself ready for the bike portion. Dusted the bike off, put a new tube in the trailer's tire, tube defected- go back to Target... Such a big set up!
I get the kids and myself going. I get a mile and a half down the road and my pedal fell off!!!! A very nice man with two kids stopped and helped me. He said I needed a certain tool for a quick fix and I need to buy a new pedal because it was stripped. SO sad... I called my husband and said- Hoooooonnneeeeey!!! My Hero came to my rescue and fixed my pedal for me and I didn't have a problem with the pedal anymore...
The three of us took a lovely ride and then went to Chipotle where we met Adam for lunch.
After that we went to our favorite park and played around for a little bit. When we went to leave my chain came off... Really?!?!? Luckily it was easier to fix than a broken pedal!
Today my round trip was 7.35 miles. Thats almost half of my bike leg on the Triathlon! Now add the 60lbs of kids and another 10 for a trailer and supplies. Wahoo!
And to make everything better- Biggest Loser started again this week! YAY! I am soo excited the seasons were so close to eachother!
See you next week for my weigh in!!!

What to do...
I am having a really hard time mentally right now.
I tried going running the other day with the kids in the stroller but it was so cold I could see my breath and my chest froze up. The stroller had a flat tire so it was difficult to push. The kids saw the park before I wanted them to so I only did a mile and then let them play at the park.
When I came home I took of my chest strap to my heart rate monitor and it broke. Costco has a GREAT return policy and since I had it less than a year I returned it for full price...But I had to give my watch back also that I depend on and it keeps my sanity.I NEVER needed a watch until I had kids.
At first when it broke I was really sad. But handing it over to the lady at costco...
At that moment is when I had a mini break down.
I have no gym membership...
I can't run with the kids in the stroller...
To afraid to run by myself...
And now I have no heart rate monitor...
AND No watch to keep time....
Costco doesn't carry that model anymore and the only other one they had was $170- I spent $50... I went to Big 5 But their only watch that would have worked was HUGE and bulky. Tried Best Buy, nada under $125.
The reason it is hitting me so hard is I am TERRIFIED of gaining my weight back. That's the Gillingwater M.O. Its what we do. We drop a ton of weight but gain it ALL back plus some. My parents, my siblings.. All of us.
When I graduated High School I weighed 250. I joined a gym with a Biggest Loser Competition. Dropped about 40 lbs. Met Adam a few months later, got married and gained weight back...Got pregnant- gained a TON of weight back.
Then I got on this path to loose weight.
I don't want to give up and gain like what so many people do!
I gave or threw away my big clothes so I can't go back- I WONT go back.
Over Thanksgiving I maintained weight- Phew!! And since I weighed in Monday I have lost 1 pound so I am down to 202.
So I am going to try my hardest to keep going. Its going to be really tough to push past my comfort zone of 200. But If I keep my comfort zone I think hmm I'm comfortable..I can afford to eat a little more ice cream. A little more treats here, there. Ugh! I NEED TO DO THIS!

Trying to get more motivation!
Hey Everyone!
I haven't posted in a LONG time!
After my 5k my brain kind of said- Awesome both goals achieved! Now you can quit!
I have only run once since then.... I am starting to skip out on the gym more and more.... Old foods are coming back.. HELP!
Well as always- I have my excuses!
On my last run before my 5K I was running by myself on a path with trees on one side and a creek on the other side. I turned a corner and saw three teenage boys who looked up to no good hiding in the trees watching people pass on the path. That morning my ipod (which is on the fritz thanks to a swim in the toilet) was not working and had to be synced to restart it so it stayed at home. So I was running with no electronic devices. I felt inspired to start back up in a run ( because I just started my walking stretch) and to go warn people up ahead. When I turned the next corner I found about 4-6 women running in a loose clump and not really together. I warned everyone to stay close as they run the corner. Later in the day I was talking with the apartment manager and she told me that a week ago a woman was jumped in that exact spot on the path. I haven't run over there since. I feel that if I did have my ipod with me I might have been attacked for it.
Second excuse! And a pretty dang good one I think-
My gym was purchased by another franchise from Yuba City. With the new ownership there have been way to many changes and the entire day care staff has changed. And I am NOT impressed! I have NO confidence in the new workers. The new head person of Day care one day was wearing 3 inch pumps, had her mom in with her helping her work, and didn't child lock the front door. My friends one year old pushed the door open and tried to escape...a ONE year old! Bradley is a smart little boy and is a lot faster and stronger then my friend's kid. And who is suppose to chase him and stop him before going to the parking lot and getting hit by a car? The chick in 3 inch heals?!?!
And to make matters worse- I was picking my kids up with the same friend and I heard the chick in 3 inch heals say to another worker " That little girl was a total BRAT yesterday and today she is a complete angel. Talk about mood swings!"
Uhh I'm sorry- WHAT?!?! Did you just call a child, possibly my child, a brat in front of two moms and a room full of kids? I went home and called the manager and complained his ear off. He defended himself saying she has worked for his company for 6 years and they have never once had a complaint about her before. Then he bashed all of the other workers who I have known for the last two years , my children and I adore, and I have never had problems with. My contract with the gym will be up next wednesday so I am going to be shopping around and trying to find a new gym. Every mom I know at the gym has complained about the day care and my trainer had a talk with the GM about the day care because she is loosing a ton of clients because of them.
SO now I need to find a new dedication and commitment! I am part of a twin forum on facebook and we formed a group on Spark People called thin twin mamas. This website is a free diet and exercise plan that you can form groups and have friends on. From what I can tell Weight Watchers is more user friendly and easier to input your exercise habits and food. However, the points get really confusing on Weight watchers. But spark people tracks calories eaten and calories burned and is very goal oriented. So I think I am going to keep tracking with Weight Watchers but use Spark people for the commitment and goals with my twin thin mamas group.
Oh, and my new weight is 203. I have lost 5 pounds since the end of September bringing my total weight loss to 57 pounds. Although, the 203 bounces back and forth a pound or two but that's where it levels out.
